An Ole Miss Softball Halloween

The Ole Miss softball team loves the week of Halloween because they get to enjoy a little bit of fun at practice.

For the past five years, Ole Miss softball has done a Halloween scrimmage game for their players, coaches, managers, and whoever else is involved with the team on a daily basis.

The Halloween scrimmage is a little different than a normal scrimmage. If they bat left-handed, they have to bat on the right side. If they bat right-handed, they have to bat on the left side. Instead of running from home to first to second to third, they run from home to third to second to first. A softball isn’t used either, they use a volleyball.

The best part of the day is seeing all of the costumes that they can come up with. Some of them plan these costumes months in advance.

Some of the costumes this year:

  • Agnes (Despicable Me) and her “fluffy” unicorn
  • Dorothy and Toto
  • Zero and Stanley from the movie Holes
  • The Voice’s Miley Cyrus
  • MermaidMan and Barnacle Boy from Spongebob Squarepants
  • Bags of Jelly Belly
  • Double Stuffed Oreos
  • White Chicks
