A Day in the Life of an Ole Miss Student During COVID-19: January Edition (Grace Post)

Grace Post, first year pharmacy student at the University of Mississippi.

7:30 a.m.- On a typical day in Oxford, I like to begin my morning at Shed Fitness to get a good workout in to start my day off on a positive note. I love staying active because it helps me stay alert and focused on my school work and classes that occur later in the day. My friends and I typically go together, encourage each other, and always have a good time in the gym.

10 a.m.- I have recently developed a love for cooking, so I like to make a nutritious breakfast with some scrambled eggs and Greek yogurt after my workout. I love a good cup of coffee, but my guilty pleasure is a loaded tea from Oxford Nutrition, which I tend to go get before a long day of class.

1 p.m.- I am currently in my first year of pharmacy school. All of my classes are on Zoom from 1-5 each day except Tuesdays. Tuesday, I go to lab in the Thad Cochran Research Center. I love the science library in the Thad Cochran Research Center. My friends and I love to gather in the study rooms to prepare for exams.

5 p.m.- Once class ends, I end my day with a delicious meal from one of my favorite restaurants, Toyo. I love a good dynamite roll. Sushi is my favorite food, no doubt, so you’ll probably see me there from time to time.

Grace’s favorite sushi from Toyo.

7:30 p.m.- On Tuesday nights, I teach dance classes at the Oxford Academy of Dance Arts, which is one of the highlights of my week. My students are so hard-working and talented, and it has been a blessing to watch them grow through this past year. I can be a tough teacher, but we still like to have fun.

9:30 p.m.- Around this time, I usually end my day by preparing for my classes for the next day and put on a Netflix show or movie. I am so thankful to to be in Oxford to continue school even though life has changed so much from the pandemic. Oxford will always be my home away from home.
