The Student Activities Association (SAA) hosts Welcome Week for all of the students on campus during the first week of every academic year. SAA prides itself on providing free events for students, by students.
This year, Welcome Week was more important than ever. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the co-directors of the Special Events committee – Cristy Van, Grant McCullough, and Harrison Grimes – programmed both in-person and virtual events that every student could enjoy.
SAA worked to provide inclusive, fun, and safe programming with the goal of welcoming new and returning students back to campus. There were crews at every in-person event ensuring that everything was sanitized, as well as making sure people were following social distancing guidelines.
